Rebuilding the Wolf Page 20
“Fine, as long as you don’t walk out of this invitation,” I muttered before walking away, not caring it was a bit petty of a jab. I was tired. I was hurt.
And fucking vice had put three people undercover at my fucking club and created huge messes for me all over the fucking place to clean up now. I was seriously pissed their running mouths had also brought a pimp, a predator into the haven we’d built. I felt my power swirl around me as I thought about that asshole again.
Too bad for him he was just a man who had walked into the den of wolves who had no problem showing him he was the lamb, not the predator.
So that was what I did. I walked into the security office and slammed my power into the asshole, fully enthralling him and loading him up so he’d spill all of his secrets. Cooper agreed to take him to Brian’s office for the full interrogation so their side could handle whatever else to clean up before we sent him to the council.
The other guy went with as well, and they were going to pull the full record of him and see if it was going to be simple charges or the whole bag of tricks. I had a feeling he was going to be a simple case, but I left it to Cooper.
I had other plans that I was not going to let anyone fuck up.
Or I would seriously fuck them up.

“You got this,” Beth murmured as we got closer to the table and felt my nerves. “It’s just for fun, nothing more.”
“We both understand that,” Arella, one of Nina’s witches that Milo and his guys had rescued, agreed. She was having fun being free and safe and for more than being a witch, as lesbians weren’t all that accepted where they’d pulled her out of.
And part of her exploring that new freedom had had her letting me know she was interested in having fun with me. Granted, she knew I wasn’t into women, but she also made it clear she found me attractive but my power more so. I didn’t understand everything with witches, as shifters were either shifters or not, no half being born or diluted magic, but from the way she talked, I got the feeling she was only half witch and didn’t have much juice.
I did. So as much as it seemed like I was trading energy for something I shouldn’t have, the whole thing was mostly her idea, and if it put her in my favor, yay. But really I got the impression they both wanted the fun and thrill.
I currently wanted to run though, so that wasn’t going according to plan. Aligning with my siren, she instantly flooded me with hormones and eased my fear, thrilled we were really doing this.
“Holy fuck, is that outfit our present?” Noah whispered as I walked up the stairs to the last row of booths that lined the far wall of the club, having reserved the corner for us.
I was wearing a white corset with laces in the front so there were actually gaps they could see skin. The tiny thong didn’t cover all that much either. The garters held up white stockings, and I was wearing white platform heels that made a bridal sort of naughty outfit with all the white, but I’d picked it for the way it would catch the black lights while the club was dark for dancing fun time.
“No, not just the outfit,” I answered, reaching up and taking the clip out of my hair so it fell all around me, tossing it on their table. “Each of you have repeatedly had a certain fantasy, and while we’re on the slow plan, I thought it might be fun to try something new for our first Valentine’s Day together.”
“I don’t understand,” Reagan admitted, glancing at the others… Which there were more of them for than the original plan as well. Then he glanced between Beth and Arella, his eyebrows scrunched together.
Beth decided to show instead of tell, leaning in and kissing me. I turned to her and fed her energy as I unzipped the corset she was wearing. It fell to the ground, and Arella spun me to face her, kissing me fiercely as her hands moved over my thighs. Beth’s hands roamed my corset while she kissed my neck.
“Oh holy fuck me,” Virg whispered.
No, not exactly the plan, but I was glad he was so excited.
I unclasped Arella’s bra as Beth rubbed her large boobs against me. I had a moment of freaking out, which she felt and rubbed her cheek against mine in comfort. Right, it was just fun and teasing, not like I was switching teams.
I fed Arella energy, smirking as she orgasmed right there. She dropped to her knees, taking my panties with her. I blinked down at her, not having thought we’d go that far, but Beth turned me so I was facing the table as she moved behind me. Their eyes were glazed over as she pulled on the corset strings and started to slowly take it off of me for their viewing pleasure.
“She wants to,” Beth murmured as she felt me get nervous again. “Try it and have fun, nothing more.”
“Just fun,” Arella echoed, smiling at me as she teased my garters. I swallowed loudly and nodded, gasping as a woman put her face where I’d never thought one would before.
The waves of desire that hit me coming from the table made me not care if it was the fucking Loch Ness monster pleasing me, they were so excited. Beth removed the corset and teased my breasts as she kept kissing my neck. I turned my head and caught her lips, feeding her energy until she cried out in pleasure.
When Arella finished, I wasn’t just panting but about drunk off the energy. I picked her up and sat her on the table. She wiped her mouth when I went to kiss her, which was sweet, but I didn’t care about that. I laid her down and fed her as much energy as she could handle, taking her on a crazy ride that the guys seriously liked.
“That was wonderful,” I praised her.
“But I am not your tea,” she checked.
“Cup of tea, and no, sorry. It was fun though.”
“It was,” she chuckled, kissing my cheek. “It was a new experience for me too, Alpha. Please think of me if you wish to tease them again.”
“I will.” I stood, and she slid off the table, giving us a wave before leaving.
“I’m going to go find a hot guy to bend me all over the place now that I’m charged and wound up,” Beth informed me, kissing my cheek. “Thanks for the serious boost. I just wanted sexy fun, but wow, that was awesome.”
“Thanks for coming up with this.”
“I have no problem corrupting you in every way I can think of,” she teased before leaving.
I giggled, seriously fucking giggled, as I looked out at the group and felt the desire. “This might backfire because I’m seconds from saying you should all do me and do me now.”
“You’re a bit drunk on desire and our energy,” Dain said more for them.
I bobbed my head. “You guys so, so loved that. Wow. You’re more wound up, excited, and flat out hornier than when I sirened Goran and his whole coven got to bite me while we had sex.”
“A lot of us were a bit nervous given who was also there and the situation or we would have been just as excited,” Carter promised. I nodded, thinking that made sense. “So that was your first time touching a woman, right? And you touched two?”
“It was just supposed to be some kissing and touching while you got to see us undress each other. I didn’t think she’d, um, do that.”
He stood and guided me to sit in the booth. “You were swaying a bit as if you were truly inebriated.”
“It feels a bit like that,” I admitted.
“That was maybe the best gift I’ve ever received in my long life,” he muttered, kissing my shoulder.
I preened as the rest of them nodded too. “I give good gifts.” I moved my hand over my face when I realized the innuendo when the energy jumped back up when it had started to cool.
Dain leaned over Noah and slid his hand in mine, bringing it to his lips. “Thank you for letting us share your trying something new and broadening your horizons. To see your first time reactions and adventurous spirit was intoxicating.” He smirked at my confusion. “I felt you start panicking, Sera. You were incredibly nervous but wanted to give us the fantasy and try what we wanted. You are one of a kind to spoil us.”
I wasn’t sure what to say to that, but luckily Carter handed me the corset.
Mistress, it’s time to put that back on or I might take you on the table for the rest of the night and not care who is around.”
“You should totally do that,” I moaned, leaning in and nibbling on his ear, smacking the corset away. I shivered as the energy went up. “Fuck me here, Carter. Fuck me hard. Fuck me with Virgil together.” I ramped up more and more as the energy spiraled, shit coming out of my mouth I couldn’t even control as my siren went over the edge.
And then it was like a plug was pulled. Too many images, too much energy, and too much all of it and the lights went out in my head. I didn’t even feel it coming or get any warning signs, my brain just short circuited.
Or at least I hoped that was all it was.
I woke with a gasp, my head aching as I sat up in my apartment. Dain was sleeping on the sofa I had by the windows, his large frame too big for the cute—but comfy—little reading sofa. He rubbed his eyes and sat up, feeling me wake.
“What happened?” I whispered, my voice sounding horrible and my throat raw.
“What do you remember?” he asked as he gracefully rolled to his feet.
I thought back. “We were drunk on the energy and she was rambling offers to Carter and Virgil, mostly what I was getting from images, and I didn’t realize how many I was getting until—it was like my mind just cut out.”
“Fairly accurate,” he agreed as he brought me over a bottle of water from my nightstand, sitting on the bed but careful not to crowd me. “I felt it happening, but I wasn’t sure what it was. It sort of felt like when we were on the Navy vessel and they were overwhelming your clairvoyant side, but this was different.”
“It’s—she’s only been sort of drunk like that really once and we overindulged. I think it gets worse if I don’t let out some of my power to…” I shook my head and took a long drink. I didn’t know how to explain it. “There was also a lot of energy and lust in the club that had nothing to do with me or what we were doing. I think it was sensory overload.”
He slowly nodded. “It might be best to keep such activities to private settings.”
I agreed, taking another drink and feeling a bit better. He reached for my hand, but I hid it under the blankets, swallowing hard when I saw how that affected him. “Did you bring me home?”
“Yes, but only to help Virgil. He took care of you and is sleeping in the guest room. I thought I should stay closer since I can feel your emotions and when you wake. Just until we knew what happened.”
“Thanks.”
“Thank you for including me. I know things are not fixed between us, that I am not forgiven, but it meant the world to me that you allowed me to be included.”
I shrugged, fidgeting with the water bottle. “It felt wrong to not include you in case we can work things out and then you missed out on a first for me when I don’t have many left.” I bounced that around my head. “Then again, you’ve been at the center of a lot of my firsts and others haven’t so—I don’t know the best way to handle any of this and not hurt someone.”
He was quiet a few minutes but then sighed. “I think you take too much onto yourself. We’re adults too, Sera. I was fully capable of asking to be included, telling you when I want to experience something with you. Others have as well. I know Brian has. If they don’t tell you, it’s not on you. We all understand you need easy and not to feel like you have a dozen husbands as more and more trouble comes your way.”
There was something in his tone, and I sighed, pulling my knees to my chest. “How big of a mess is left over from last night?”
“Huge, heaping piles of shit,” he chuckled darkly, knowing I liked to say that. “Though this might be a blessing in disguise if you’re okay with being a bit sneaky.”
I took another drink, finishing the bottle, and nodded. “The blood bottling thing? You want to use this to our advantage?”
“Yes. It’s not how I like to do business, but you were targeted because of his hate of all of us, police intent on hurting your business, income for all of us, so yeah, if they want to make this right and keep it quiet, they need to help us now.”
“Okay,” I whispered, looking away and curling up more.
“Why are you in so much pain as you agree?” he rasped, moving closer and taking the bottle from me. “Sera, please talk to me.”
I shook my head, my chest aching. “Just go.”
“No,” he growled, grabbing my arms and dragging me to him. “I left before because I thought it was what was best, and I did damage to the woman I love. I will not just walk out again. Not ever.”
“I don’t believe you.” I lowered my head, not even able to look at him. “You come back when it’s Iran or now business. You want me to help the fae and all paranormals because I can, because of my position. You don’t want me. You need me!”
“That’s not true,” he choked out, ignoring my fighting him and pulling me into his arms. I wasn’t willing to really hurt him, so I caved and went. “Sera, your emotions are all over the place and not in a way that I’ve ever felt from you. You deserve to feel all you are, but I think last night fried you.”
I checked with my siren and wolf and found them both frazzled and all over the place. I nodded that he was right and let him hold me. “You’ll leave me again,” I sobbed, letting it all out even if it was not how I would normally react.
He could deal with it or leave again. I almost wanted him to drown in my emotions just to show him he would leave so I didn’t cling to this hope he might really love me and stay.
“I’m not leaving,” he choked out, holding me tighter. “I was wrong to leave. If we sink, we sink together.”
For some reason, that made me cry even harder, and so did he.
“Something happened last night with her fizzing out, didn’t it?” Virgil asked from the doorway when we started calming down.
I glanced up at him and saw he looked like he’d been kicked in the nuts a few times and knew he felt way too much from us. I nodded, and he gave me a sympathetic look. It helped me finally mop myself up and get my bearings.
“It’s not just you being a siren, Sera,” Virgil said gently as he plopped onto the bed too. “Being a wolf is awesome and I wouldn’t trade it for anything, but you’re still new and getting the speed and scent and strength, and all of it comes with a price. That price is a lot of violent mood swings and crap. And you’re an Alpha. I thought I would seriously land in jail after I started shifting, I was so fucking aggressive.”
“Really?” I checked, shocked because he was so calm and in control always.
“Yeah, really. Ask some of your pack or even Simone. Cats are notoriously high and low after they start shifting because cats in general can be. Hell, talk to that Axel guy. He’s a born tiger, but shit, there aren’t a lot of them for good reason. They can go completely off the rails, and it was hard to hide that. How he’s not fathering babies all over the place now that we’re out and it’s the clan’s decree is beyond me.”
“My guess is that’s why he’s a clanless tiger,” Dain muttered, his voice raw from crying as well. “He basically admitted as much to me, and all my research shows the same.”
“Research?” I asked, giving him a shocked look.
Dain looked away, but Virgil burst out laughing. “What does my file say?”
Dain shot him a nasty look but answered. “That you’re safe for her to have in her life. That’s all I care about. She’s FBI and lots of eyes are on her. I won’t risk someone shady getting near her and bringing down all she’s built. You pay your taxes, care for your pack, and have two speeding tickets in the past five years. You’re not a threat to her.”
“You’ve been checking out the people who come near me?” I whispered.
He nodded, his eyes going wide as he felt my joy. “You’re not mad?”
“No, you did it for me, not the mission or what you hope I’ll do for paranormals next.”
His face fell. “I love you, Sera. Yes, I want to help paranormals, just as you do, but I
won’t ever risk you to do that. You’re more important to me.”
He couldn’t lie, so he meant it. I leaned in and kissed his cheek, glad at least the sob fest had resulted in something good. “You should say stuff like that more often instead of just videos to negate what happened. Being in front of me changes the message.”
“Gives it depth,” Virg offered, and I nodded.
Dain muttered a thank you to him and reach over, cupping my cheek. “Nothing else matters to me besides you. If we can help others, wonderful, but I worry and love you.”
“Okay,” I whispered.
“But?” he pushed.
“But I think it will take me a while to really hear you when you say that.” I shrugged. “It’s not like I can just flip a switch, Dain. I thought you were done with me for weeks.”
“I’ll fix this,” he promised, and I hoped he could.
Stupid hope.
Dain leaned in and kissed my shoulder, his lips lingering longer than needed and making me shiver. “Why don’t you let Virgil give you a shower so you settle? Having another wolf there will help, and I’ll call the mayor and see what we can swing.”
“Okay.” I snarled when he pulled away, feeling the loss, being abandoned again. Next thing I knew, I shoved him back to the bed and straddled him, sinking my elongated teeth into his neck like I had Virg during sex.
Shock rocked me, but my wolf wasn’t done. I shoved down his pants so his dick was naked to me and rubbed myself over him, not having panties on under the night shirt Virg had put me in. I didn’t take him in me, instead rocking my hips until I came and his whole groin was slick with my wetness.
“I-I have—I didn’t—” I stuttered, my heart racing wildly at what I’d just done, barely noting the pleasure I’d felt.
Dain reached up and cupped my cheek. “You marked me as yours. Your bite and now others will smell you on me. You thought you lost me, and your wolf doesn’t like unclear lines. She just very clearly said I’m yours and I better start acting like it and making sure others know it.”
