Invading Alpha Page 4

“It’s a mind fuck to look in the mirror,” I snickered. “Feed me and fill me in. I hate we’re doing this during the full moon, but it’s the best to catch them all, and they wouldn’t think I’d make the move as my pack keeps getting shit during full moons. Plus, they think we’ll sneak in at any other time.”

“Yeah, but all the conspiracy theories and how much info got out but then was bad and more we’ve let out has just fucked them all up,” he assured me as he pulled out of the spot. “They are chasing their tails all over the place—forgive the pun. But drawing this out has helped in a lot of ways.

“I know it wasn’t intentional and there was too much other shit, but they’ve been waiting for the hammer to fall since June last year. That’s a long time to be looking over your shoulder. Plus, with Milwaukee and Grand Rapids reaching their ears, they’re absolutely certain you won’t come until April.”

“The Alpha said that?” I checked.

“Yup, just the other day when one of his guys was saying they should cool the deliveries for a while.”

“Good. You get the wardrobe change for me?”

“Yup.” He tossed a couple of plastic bags over into the backseat for me. “Meat on the pizza?”

“Bacon and olives. I’ve been dying for that for some reason.”

“I got a spot open near the place I like. You want to part and change in the bathroom?”

“Yeah, let’s do that,” I agreed after seeing how busy it was around the area. “It’s lunch so that’s good cover just in case someone was watching the airport.”

He didn’t bother saying he had it all in hand or we were covered. That would be stupid. There were always mistakes or people who slipped through when undercover. The plans that worked out always assumed as much and someone was watching.

I proceeded to the bathroom and changed my clothes, adding to my makeup as well with what I’d brought. Then I headed right back to the car, Travis unlocking it after he got the pizzas and handing them over. He updated me on what I needed to know on the drive, and none of it made me happy. There were a lot more problems than we had guessed.

And I was FBI. I assumed everyone was breaking the law most of the time.

“This complicates things,” I grumbled as I finished the first pizza and started on the second.

  “There’s more,” he warned.

“Of course there is,” I drawled. I let out a heavy sigh as he listed the rest. I reached over the seat and grabbed a notebook and pen.

  “What are you doing?”

“Listing who else I need to be called in once this starts,” I grumbled. “This is way bigger than we thought. Seriously, I wish I was being called into another hostile country takeover situation.”

  “Okay, so what’s the plan?”

“It’s the same for you,” I told him firmly. “You’re still human, Travis. The moment I walk into that house, you make the calls as you get the fuck out of here. If they can give you some sort of job to help facilitate that won’t put you in danger, that’s cool. Like I think we’re going to need a bunch of SUV rentals or whatever. But I want you out of range, as the shit is going to hit the fan and fast.”

“You don’t need to tell me twice. I want to live to become a wolf.”

I finished writing out the list as we pulled up to the right block, giving him a few phrases of what to say to whom so they’d believe him because I wasn’t sure I would if I got the call. I nodded when he pointed out the house, thanking him when he wished me luck, and got out of the car.

Getting into character as I walked up to the front door, I was ready when a huge, stereotypical Italian Stallion stood there.

“Do you speak Russian? You don’t look like you would speak Russian,” I rattled off in Russian, fidgeting like someone trying to hide they wanted their next hit. He blinked at me, and I sighed. “English? Mario?”

“Yeah, that’s me, you gotta speak English.”

“I don’t know much. I’m new. Anton sent me.” I pursed my lips like I was thinking of the word. “Happy. I make you happy. He give me extra if I suck you too.” I snapped my fingers. “Gift. I gift. I dance for you and suck you if you want as present.”

“Nice ring,” he mumbled, studying me closely.

I swallowed a flinch, used to everything going wrong when undercover and able to ride it. Hell, it was half the adrenaline rush.

I took it off, realizing he could smell the magic and thought it was something that worked to fool him when on. I held it up to the light to show it shined before putting it on again. “Is magic. Pretty, yes? I thought it engagement ring from guy. Would have preferred engagement ring so I could get alimony from him. But it work. No one hit me since.”

“You’d prefer the alimony after you divorced the guy?” he chuckled, shaking his head when I nodded. “Yeah, you’re one of Anton’s girls. You’re prettier than most of them.”

“I’m prettiest and best,” I said, preening at his praise. “Tell Anton that. He no give me to dogs again.”

“You got a problem with wolves?” he snarled.

I shook my head, holding up my hands in surrender. “No, dogs. Men who act like dogs who fight and fuck and nothing in the head. I not know you wolf. I like shifters. They nice to me. I don’t let vamps bite, and no one hits. My rules.”

“I get you,” he cut me off, waving me in. “Let’s see what you got then.”

I nodded but then froze when I saw who was in there. “Others leave. I no do whole room. Anton said just you.”

He moved behind me, using his bigger size to intimidate me. “You want my security to leave? Not happening.”

“Outside is fine. I not whore to whole room.” And I couldn’t influence him without them knowing, and I didn’t want all of them to yet.

“Show me those titties, and if they’re good I’ll send them all home,” he murmured. “I might want extra for being nice even if it wasn’t what Anton said.”

I shrugged. “I like to fuck shifters. You tell Anton I was extra good and I’ll let you ride me. Full moon, yes? You be nice?”

“Oh, yeah, I’ll be really nice to you, baby,” he chuckled, his hands moving to my ass. “Shit, I figured you were thin but flab like most of his girls.”

“She good, boss?” a guy asked, giving me a heated look. “Maybe we can request her from Anton for extra fun.”

“I serve poker games topless and give host fun but no gang bangs,” I said firmly. “Last one hurt me. That my line. Too many men lose their heads and hurt me.” I rattled off more in Russian like the topic upset me, and they backed off. I turned to face Mario and untied my top, letting him see my breasts.

“Get out. I want to enjoy her alone. I’ll see you for the run.”

“You got it,” one of the others snickered. “Have fun.”

“Oh, we will,” he purred, coming closer.

I closed my top when the others moved near us, heading for the door, and he let me. But the second they were gone, he was on me. I didn’t fight him, letting him kiss me and gently draping my influence on him, as his guys were still close.

“Growl and say I’ve got a good mouth like I’m sucking you,” I ordered him, and he did it, his expression slack. We played that for a few minutes until they left, and then I fed from him to keep up my energy. He wasn’t all that much. I mean, enough to be Alpha, but he wasn’t even as powerful as Stud, certainly not Virgil. No, he was Alpha for other reasons.

  Not good ones.

“Get on the phone and start calling the other leaders and invite them and their people tonight,” I instructed. “We’re going to have a huge party to celebrate something awesome, and you can’t wait to share the surprise. Tell them whatever they’d want to hear to get them to come, but they have to come or you’ll be upset with them, and they wouldn’t want that.”

“No, no they wouldn’t,” he agreed, pulling out his phone.

I changed as he made the calls, wiping off the excess makeup and feeling more like myself e
ven if I didn’t look it at the moment. I did reapply the bespelled lipstick just to be careful in case someone else came around.

After the calls, I sat him down and made him give me all the passwords and access numbers to everything from the safe in his office to his cell phone to everything. I made him give me everything. He listed every baddy he had deals with and all the contact names. I would have preferred days of interrogating him, but that wasn’t how it worked with wolves and takeovers, so I did the best I could with the time I had.

And I kept feeding from him. Hey, I could use it since I was using power to hold him and there was a lot still on the agenda.

That took a few hours, but I kept pumping him for information that I recorded on his own phone while we headed to the garage. I hid in the backseat and made him drive us to pack lands since I wanted to be the first one there to lay out the welcome. His house was in Queens, so we actually didn’t have that long of a drive until we got to some green areas and a bit further until we arrived at the pack’s lands.

It was a lot like our lands if I was honest. It had the feel of them when I’d taken over from Engle. Unhappy. That was how I would characterize it, as if the land and those buried there weren’t happy with how the pack was doing.

  That would change.

There was one really cool thing there though. They had a throne in a tree. No shit, in the damn tree. It was as if it had been grown that way like putting tomato plants up a trellis. It wasn’t a stump, but the tree curved and had sort of a caved in area for the backrest and then became this huge ass tree.

“That’s fucking cool,” I chuckled, studying it carefully. “How did you guys do this?”

“The first wolves to ever come here from Europe planted this tree and molded it that way,” he answered. “They bent it around a fishing barrel for years so it grew into a seat and the symbol of life all shifters would have here, welcoming and strong.”

“Well, you fucked that up,” I snickered. I sat on it and made him kneel before me just to be a shit as I fed and interrogated him more.

Then when I felt people arrive, I sighed, knowing the next part and hating to do it even if I knew it was necessary. I took one last big feed, stopped the recording, and tore out his heart. I dropped it next to him and used the hooker clothes to clean up, leaning back on the throne and putting my feet up on his dead body.

Paranormals were all about flair after all.

I remembered one last thing and turned on the cell jammer Travis had given me so the whole area was covered and no one could call for help or to warn anyone.

“You’re dead, bitch!” one of his Betas roared as several vehicles arrived at once. Dozens of wolves came racing over, and I didn’t even flinch.

I simply wiped off the lipstick. They slowed, understanding filling their eyes. “Oh, so you know who I am. Have you been looking out for me?”

“You’re still dead,” he snarled, taking a threatening step towards me. “You cheated.”

“Oh no, I had every right after he sent a hitter for me. You failed to protect your Alpha, and now New York is mine.” I threw out my power at them, knocking them back a step. “The choice is yours if you’re going to realize you’ve been taken over or if you want to die here today. I’m good either way, but I’d be very careful of your next move, as all of you protect others, and you might not want to fail more than once today.”

I could smell the fear coming off of them at my threat. It was just a threat. I wasn’t going to sell off their mates or anything else horrid. I just needed to stall until the rest of the plan panned out. A few seemed on the fence, and I decided to lay my ace out.

“And my oldest sister should be here soon to help me,” I purred, smirking when the level of fear shot up. “Be smart. I work for the government. She doesn’t.”

“I recognize you as my Alpha,” the ring leader grumbled as he took a knee, bowing his head to me. The others followed suit.

Fuck a duck, it worked! Let the games begin.

Melicent arrived twenty minutes later with my ancients and a shit ton more people, including two dozen wolves I didn’t know. They were smart and parked on the other side of the lands and took the long way so as to not alert anyone. By then most of the pack and other groups were there. That was all as planned.

What wasn’t planned was the large amount of fairies that were dressed in court garb and swords showing. And on top of that, Axel and Eugene were there with their teams.

“Huh,” I muttered as I glanced around the group. “How?” I rolled my eyes when Melicent snorted. “Alena called them to give them the heads up?”

“Yes, since you cleared their teams,” she confirmed.

“They’d have to report that to the council, which we don’t know is fully clean,” I argued.

Axel shrugged. “We hinted to Haton, but we’re team leads. We have a lot of discretion how to handle the situation.”

“You called in the council?” someone worried, panic and fear so thick in the air it practically made me gag.

“Yeah, and the FBI,” I drawled. “There’s so much fucking dirt in New York that it makes the pollution look like no big deal, and I say that as someone from Chicago. If you’re clean, you have nothing to worry about. However, they’re teams of trackers, so if you think to run, know you’re dead. This was a council sanctioned invasion after the Alpha sent a hitter to me. It’s also an FBI cleanup.”

I nodded for Melicent to join me as I headed over to one man in particular. He instantly bared his neck to both of us, and she went first to greet him as the stronger one.

“This invasion is not for your pack, Neil,” I greeted the Alpha of the second New York pack. “However, I am also here as FBI, so I expect your full cooperation.”

“You have it,” he assured me.

“I do have the authority from the council to allow you to step down without a fight,” I told him gently, quietly so everyone didn’t need to hear. I saw the shock in his eyes, the disbelief. “By all accounts you broke away from the dirty wolves almost two years ago, and he allowed it because your family is connected. But he blacklisted you, and your pack is hurting. You never wanted to become Alpha, did you?”

“No, but it had to be done to protect many,” he muttered, rubbing his arm as he glanced at the ground. “What would happen to me if I accept?”

“You would go back to Beta. I’m going to clean up New York, and Melicent will be Alpha for the next several months until we come up with a permanent plan. People like coming under my umbrella, but it’s one thing to do it in the Midwest and a whole other barrel of monkeys for a huge pack like New York and on the East Coast. She can hold the pack and keep stability while we clean up and fix what is wrong here.”

“You do not have to answer today,” Melicent added gently as she moved her hand to his shoulder and rubbed it. “You are young and have done an amazing job keeping the wolves safe among such shit and with only your family’s help in Spain. Your family is talking with mine and will respect your decision. They have said they want you home where you will be safe and protected from the fallout.”

“I think I wish that as well,” he whispered. “Not until I know they are all safe, but yes, then I think I wish to go home.” He gave me a hard look. “You will protect them? Save them?”

“I will protect them,” I agreed. “People have to save themselves, but I will give them the path and aid they need, yes. You have my word.”

“Let me speak with them and see how things go today, but yes, I believe that is my decision.”

“Take your time,” Melicent said. “It’s a tough decision to make and one you cannot change, so be sure and let us handle what we have to, as it is a lot.”

He nodded, and we headed back to our group. I leaned into her and admitted that went better than I would have thought.

“From what I understand from the messages you gave, there is vast, vast corruption and bad here. Something had to go right among that.”

Fair enough. Next was talking with the surprising amount of fairies. I went to the one who seemed to be the leader, all three of my sides noting how handsome he was and blaming the full moon for that.

  Yeah, right.

“Princess Melicent, Princess Seraphine, I am Jonik, third son, of the house of Zhoron,” he greeted, bowing deeply as did all the other fairies. “My queen declared any available in the area be dispatched to aid you in your quest, as not only have you mated to one of ours, but she was quite clear this would aid all fae kind once handled.”

“That’s the plan,” I muttered, holding out my hand to him before Melicent, which she found amusing. I quickly took the ring off my other hand so when we touched, I got what I needed from him. “He’s clean. He’s actually a friend of Dain’s. They’re all clean. Laila only called in those she knew would help and not start shit, though she did threaten them with a year at her court if they misbehave.”

“Glad to hear it.” She turned and waved over some of her party. “This is Bemus, he is mine. I believe you refer to them as consorts. I have not picked one mate yet, but you may treat him as such, as he has been my consort the longest and I give such tasks to him.”

“Oh, so we’re doing the whole song and dance, okay,” I muttered, scrubbing the back of my neck and giving them a look. “Okay, I don’t know how to do this. Dain always tells me what to say and walks me through it.” Both Melicent and Jonik looked like they were having a hard time not laughing.

“Introduce who are yours so they know how to address them accordingly,” Melicent explained.

“But they’re all mine,” I sighed. “Either they’re mine from FBI and I outrank them, or my ancient vampires are mine since I’m Mistress of their coven and I’ve sirened Goran. Noah’s not here. Dain’s not here. So those are mine in how I think we’re talking?” I felt a lot more people join us, and I sighed. “I feel like we’re picking teams for dodgeball again.”

“You need to acknowledge your human,” she guided.

I glanced around and grabbed Brian’s hand, pulling him over to me. “He’s mine.”
