Thieves About Read online

If you did, thank you. Thank you for respecting me and other authors for their hard work, understanding this is our job, and while we love it, we do deserve to be compensated for all the hours, and hours, and hours we put into it.

If you did not… Go buy one! You are a thief and your parents and grandparents and cute animals all around the world are ashamed of you. There is no justification for committing this crime because it is a crime, no different than walking into a physical bookstore, taking a print copy off the shelf, and walking out of the store without paying for it.

There is no such thing as a victimless crime. If you truly believe that, you’ve never been a victim. And the victims aren’t only the authors, but the fans who lose authors that quit over our constantly being stolen from and mistreatment. Mistreating the authors that write the books you like or read—not liking them isn’t an excuse for theft, it’s just extra weird then—that’s not a fan. Fans leave reviews to support. Fans send messages of love. Fans… Well fans are nice. Be nice.

Being one of the most powerful enchanters ever and a woman doesn’t always have too many people giving Soraya Devil much credit… Even if most don’t have the balls to admit that to her face. That’s fine. She knows how to play the games and normally better than the people who start them.

Her coven of those tossed from the enchanter community always has a list of enemies, but when there’s a ghoul on the loose in Indianapolis, that’s way too close for people not to be upset. However, there seems to be a silver lining to the bad news when Soraya meets a sexy vampire working the case who is all about working closely during the case in any way she wants.

However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what’s on Soraya’s plate, leaving too much for her to juggle at once. Most of it’s good—like the possible expansion and new factory—but she is only one person. But when the people who care about her call in help, they might have added more than she can handle instead of helping.

“Wow,” Willie, the Alpha of the Denver pack, breathed as I appeared at the Alpha house.

I was tempted to almost pull a “this old thing” line, but it was obvious I’d put on something to shine. The dress was white with an intricate lace pattern so skin was visible starting at the shoulders, then went down along the very gaping cut that stopped at my stomach. It continued over my hips and around back for most of my butt and the very limited back it had.

The rest was a shimmering white to cover the indecent parts and had a trail, but also a very wide slit up the middle. The shoes were pretty, white, open toe high heels that had some flare on the straps to make it look as if I was wearing matching anklets.

“Too much? You said dress for fun,” I murmured, moving closer as I took in his lame attempt to impress me with nicer jeans and an Oxford shirt. I waved my hand and changed him into a designer tailored suit with a shirt that matched his eyes and silk tie. “Isn’t that better?”

“Yes, thank you,” he muttered, blinking down at his outfit. “I thought keeping things a bit relaxed would be better, but of course you’re right.”

“I normally am,” I teased, taking his offered arm. “You invite a lady to dinner and you should dress like a gentleman, always.”

“Thank you for correcting the mistake and not just leaving,” he replied, worry in his tone.

  “I’m not that petty.”

“No, you’re extremely busy, and that needs to be respected or you should just leave them hanging.”

“Good you understand that.” I smiled when he led us into the formal dining room and saw a huge platter of appetizers waiting off to the side with a selection of wine. “Oh my, this looks lovely. You are forgiven, Willie.”

“Thank you, Enchantress.” He moved over to the chair for me and pulled it out, scooting me in after I sat. “We wanted to titillate your taste buds with an array of fun and hopefully different than what you normally get in Chicago.”

“Titillate away,” I chuckled, selecting the wine when he gestured for me to pick.

And that was when I noticed what was off to the side of the room… Or more like who.

Ten males of his pack were there.

  Naked.

“Are they joining us?” I asked as he poured the wine.

He shrugged. “If you wish. When I told my pack who was coming, they offered their services for whatever you might want, very eager to spend time with you.”

“Is that so?” I accepted the wine and eyed them over as I took a sip.

He gave them a signal, and the first approached us, picking off a dish from the appetizer platter and bringing it to me. I selected a few and crooked my finger at him. “Yes, Enchantress?”

I gave him a kiss on the cheek. “If you are not old enough to drink the alcohol at dinner, then you are too young for these sorts of games. Thank you for the offer, but no.”

“Of course,” he accepted with a pout. He was definitely eighteen, but that was too young.

I still enjoyed watching him walk away. He gave the rest of the plate to Willie and then left the dining hall.

I ate what I’d taken and then stood with my wine, walking over to the remaining nine. “Very lovely, all of you.”

“My pack has a lot to offer.”

I let the comment slide because I knew we were playing and I knew him a bit, but coming from an Alpha I didn’t know, I would have gotten pissed that they assumed I was some whore who did anything for a big dick. Willie was trying to come up with something I’d never experienced before, which was hard when someone was a thousand years old.

Or so most people thought. The world was vast, and there was always something new to find or enjoy.

“Are you all willing for any sort of fun?” I checked, smiling when their auras flashed with excitement. “Dinner is always better with a show.” I moved back to the first and made a large bed pillow appear, handing it to him. “You’ll need that.”

He accepted it with a slow nod. His eyes went wide as I muttered under my breath. He moved the pillow to the edge of the table and started humping it, the spell making him think he was deep inside the one he wanted most.

“Oh gods, oh gods, Enchantress,” he moaned as he moved faster.

“Yes, this is fun,” I chuckled, stepping away and taking my seat again while watching. “He has excellent form.”

“It’s an intriguing spell,” Willie muttered, waving the next one over to keep serving.

“Yes, but it doesn’t make the pillow me. Apparently your wolf has a crush.”

“I think most every male that meets you does, Enchantress. Especially when you wear a dress like that in front of them.”

“Flatterer,” I purred. I picked several tasty looking tartlets and fun on crackers as I kept watching. We were through most of the appetizers when he finally finished. “That’s quite the stamina. Shocking for one so young.” Then again, at twenty-two or so most were considered adults.

Yes, but we were all still idiots at that age.

“Someone get him something to drink or a sports drink,” I said when the first lay on the pillow gasping for air. “Bring several. You’ll all need them.” Willie coughed on his wine, apologizing for his reaction, but I was busy looking over the next one with the last plate of appetizers.

“Do you not want them, Enchantress?” he asked nervously when I didn’t take them.

I waved my hand and pushed away the chair next to me. “Why don’t you feed them to me.”

“My pleasure,” he panted, kneeling next to me, taking one off the dish, and bringing it
to my lips. His mostly interested dick went rock hard when I ate the food right up and licked his fingers.

I turned towards him, crossing my legs so the slit rode up higher, and put the next puff on my knee. “Would you like to try them too?”

“Yes,” he moaned, setting the plate down and eating the food off of me, kissing along my leg as he did. The next bite I leaned way over to get, smirking when he groaned at the view he got.

The next course came, and I raised an eyebrow when they were ribs. Just ribs. Yes, we had those in Chicago too.

“Yes, you have ribs in Chicago,” Willie chuckled, guessing my reaction. “These have a good mix of the area and are worth the mess.”

I nodded, telling the wolf kneeling next to me to go hop up on the table and then used the Kiss of Twenty Tongues on him. Another wolf took his place feeding me pieces of meat after he pulled it off the bones. It was delicious, but I was wearing a white dress.

And there was some symbolism behind it as I was pretty sure it was a wedding dress or typically used for that.

Next came fish tacos and again, I switched out the wolves. We rotated like that when each new dish came, even the fun side dishes like a sweet potato done all up… Which was creative and tasty.

But finally we were at dessert and there were no more distractions, all of them recovering or otherwise entertained with my magic. I stood and went over to Willie, sitting up on the table just down from him so my ass didn’t land in his cake and sorbet. I flicked my wrist and moved his chair to me, restraining him to the chair.

“Now that you’ve thrown nine of your delicious wolves at me, aren’t you going to be a good Alpha and offer yourself?”

Anger filled his eyes at the implication. “I did not order my people to offer themselves. You can feel how willing they are, Soraya.”

“Yes, I can, which is why I gave them some well deserved thrills,” I purred, leaning in and smirking when he looked down my dress. “But you are Alpha, Willie. You always go first. I always go before my coven to test the waters and then they can play all they want. Because I could have been a total bitch now that we’re negotiating. You knew that could be a risk.”

“So did they,” he clarified, easing back on his agitation. “But I’ve never seen you once be cruel or mean, so I was confident this would be fun as it has been.”

I snorted. “You don’t know me well enough to make some assumptions. It would be stupid for you to make such assumptions, as I didn’t even blink when I ended a weak psychic who was leaving souls stranded after calling them here. He worked with someone I knew to send them back, and then he dropped dead of a heart attack. Do you understand what I’m saying?”

“Never fuck with you.” He gave a slow nod. “I got it.”

I uncrossed my legs and hiked up the skirt a bit. “Then go first like a real Alpha should and put your money where your mouth is… So to speak.”

“This isn’t a punishment,” he groaned, leaning in and kissing my thigh. “Not at all, Enchantress.”

“You are restrained, and later you will be on your knees before me,” I purred, running my fingers through his hair. “The point is well made then, don’t you think?”

  “Yes.”

“Good then make it.” I fisted his hair and moved him closer, gasping as his lips and tongue immediate found the right spot.

I rolled my head when I heard a whimper and saw several had fully recovered and wanted to play more. I picked two while using spells on the rest. They joined me on the table and took turns kissing me while touching my skin, licking my neck, and dying to do more.

“How much do you wish to touch my breasts?” I teased them. I chuckled when they both groaned and one’s dick started leaking. “That bad, huh?”

  “Yes, Enchantress,” they whimpered.

“Don’t rip my dress,” I warned. I gasped as they quickly slid their hands in my dress and teased me while doing delicious things to my neck and ears. I cried out as I orgasmed, Willie not slowing down and becoming more enthusiastic when I did. After a second turn, I released Willie and gave him a very pointed look.

He stood and moved the chair, kneeling before me. “I have no problem kneeling before you, Enchantress. I know my place in life.”

“Which is why I came for dinner,” I told him as I slid off the table. I stopped right in front of him. “Still hungry?”

“Famished,” he growled, sliding his hands up my legs and moving one over his shoulder. The two wolves came and helped, not willing to miss out on the fun when I’d given them the green light.

When I finished that time, I lowered my leg, leaned over, and kissed his lips. “You should get naked. I would undress you, but I thought you’d want to keep my present.”

“Yes, thank you. It’s a nice suit,” he muttered, getting to his feet. His gaze never left mine as he undressed and set everything on the table. When he was naked, I sat him on his chair.

And sat on his lap, smirking when he moaned at how good I felt. “Is this what you wanted when you invited me over?”

“Yes, gods, fuck, yes,” he panted, giving me a glazed over look. “You feel so much better than I even dreamed.”

“I know,” I breathed against his lips as I moved my hips. “I’ve been told it’s heaven.”

  “Yes.”

“Good because I want your flowers.”

  He blinked at me. “Huh?”

I smirked at him. “The flowers you gave in your collection of samples. I was able to use them. I want more.”

“I do too,” he whimpered when I stopped moving. “We’ll find more.”

I clucked my tongue. “Don’t do that because they’re actually illegal to pick from public or government land.”

“We didn’t know that,” he promised, moaning when I moved a bit, showing I was happy to hear that, as I hated poachers and people who went against conservationist efforts.

“The Rocky Mountain columbine or Colorado Blue columbine is protected, however, that doesn’t mean it can’t be grown.”

“We don’t have that sort of setup,” he worried, his hands moving to my ass as he studied my eyes. “We don’t have farms like other packs or prides. We just became a pack five years ago and don’t have that kind of anything yet.”

“I know, but you are not the first pack I’ve found that way and still worked with. You found it, and it would be horrible of me to just give it to someone else to grow or in our own greenhouses.” I waited until that sank in. “Would you like to discuss the deal I’ve made with those Alphas to finance a farm they buy back from me within five years and keep growing for me?”

His eyes flashed excitement. “That could provide at least a dozen jobs if not more.”

“Yes and room for expansion, as there are always ingredients I need,” I whispered against his lips as I moved again. “What do you say, Willie? Do you wish to get in bed with me?”

“Yes,” he growled, his hands tightening on me. “In both ways.”

I smirked at him. “Well, I’ll do business with you, but I’m only offering tonight’s fun otherwise.” I raised an eyebrow when he opened his mouth. “Take it or leave it because I’ve not only seen how excited you are in your aura to get near me but also so many random thoughts about how it would put your pack on the map if the Enchantress was in your bed.”

He swallowed loudly, not even able to deny it. He wanted my body, very much so even, but he wanted my power and favors more. He gave a slight nod.

“A pleasure doing business with you,” I teased, mashing my mouth to his and riding him for real. I whispered naughty things in his ear, and Willie finished way too fast, looking probably embarrassed.

“Please don’t give me the line it happens to everyone,” he growled, standing with me wrapped around him. He laid me on the table and kissed my breasts. “It’s how amazing you are and how long my dry spell has been. I can do better.”

“Can you?” I challenged, heat filling his eyes.

He did, but it still wa
sn’t something to bother writing in a diary about. I ended up wearing him out and still was not sated. When we were done, I boxed up both our desserts for myself, smirking at him as I also cleaned myself up. Then I kissed each of his wolves, leaving them with one last fun spell before I popped home.

“What can I do for you, boss?” the enchanter at the front desk asked, knowing most times I used them as I would assistants since they were at the center of the coven, as they handled a lot for the building but also saw everyone of the coven.

“Could you please tell Jerome that the wolf Alpha of Denver has accepted our offer and to finish up the deal.”

I was going to say more, but I caught a stray thought dying to know if I was commando under the dress or if there was some tiny thong I could manage with the lace design. It wasn’t the thought but who it came from.

Slowly looking over my shoulder, I swallowed my annoyance when I saw it was who I’d thought. “Detective Hunt, what can I do for you tonight?”

“He just signed a lease,” the enchanter told me. “The building manager approved the application already, and he moves in tomorrow.”

I swallowed down what I really wanted to say, realizing he thought it was a good thing. I smiled at him. “We’ll be right back.”

“Sure, boss.” He frowned, shooting the others at the desk a worried look.

I ignored it and went to Hunt, popping us to the private lounge the moment I touched him. “I thought you were clear on how things were after our discussion last week?”

“What? Huh?” he muttered, blinking at me… Before looking back at the dress and how I looked in it.

Just to be a bitch, I went and sat on the arm of the sofa near us, slowly crossing my legs and then recrossing them, his brain about melting then. “What are you playing at, Detective?”

“Nothing,” he muttered, moving closer, his eyes raking over my body. “That’s quite the dress, Ms. Devil.”

“It’s nice for easy access and not even needing to get undressed for fun.” I smirked when his nostrils flared. “No, you can’t smell them on me because I’m better than being sloppy. Now answer my question.”
